PRELIMINARY TESTS
The preliminary tests are based on content from
your high school courses. These tests will be graded and the marks will
be stored in your professor's database. The purpose of these tests is
to help you review some general mathematical concepts and to give your
professor an indication of the level of skills of the students.
These tests are available via the iLrn website
and are called: Number Sets Test, Absolute Value Test, Equations and
Inequalities Test, Fractions Test, Polynomials Test, Linear and
Quadratic Equations Test, Geometry Test, Trigonometry Test, Exponents
and Logarithms Test, and Finite Series Test.
Each student must visit the iLrn site from the
link below and create a
user account as follows:
1. In your browser, enter
http://ilrn.com. On
the iLrn homepage, click the "Create an account" under "New
Users" section to create your
account.
2. The page "Enter your
school name" will appear. Enter "Nipissing" in the
"School name" box and click "Search"
3. IMPORTANT: On the page "Select your
school" select "NIPISSING UNIVERSITY - MUSKOKA (Bracbridge ,
FC)" and click "Continue"
4. On the page "Choose one option" select "My
instructor gave me a code to register for a class" and enter
the course key (it will be given out in lecture). Click
"Continue"
5. On the page "Enter your account information
below" fill out necessary information such
as e-mail address and password. The required fields are marked with *. To protect
your privacy you do not have to enter information in any other field, if you
wish.
6. Read the "End User License Agreement" and then,
if you agree with the terms and conditions, select "I agree"
and click "Continue"
7. The page "Welcome to ThomsonNOW!" will appear.
Click on "Start using ThomsonNOW!"
8. After a system check, the course page will
appear.
9. To take tests, click on "Assignments/Tests"
tab.
If you have already registered with iLrn, each time when
you wish to take test, you should go to the
main iLrn page http://ilrn.com and click on "Sign
in" under the "Returning Users" section. Then you have to
proceed as described in the steps 2 and 3 above. After that,
you will be asked to enter your e-mail address and password.
Enter them and click "Sign in".
